Subaru Levorg: Performance, Safety, Comfort, and Speed

If you ever venture to a Subaru dealership today, you may have noticed a Subaru Levorg for sale among their vehicles. But what exactly is the Levorg and how does it stack up against its competitors?

The Subaru Levorg is a mid-size car with a Sportwagon body. It shares its platform with other Subaru greats like the Legacy, WRX and the Impreza. According to the Japanese automaker, the word “Levorg” was taken from the words LEgacy, reVOlution, and touRinG.

Subaru first manufactured the Levorg in 2014. In 2020, the car company released the second generation of this car model. The new gen of the Levorg now uses the Subaru Global Platform.

To get to know the Levorg more, let’s look into some of its key data and main features.

Subaru Levorg Performance: Safety, Comfort, and Speed

The Subaru Levorg for sale in Australia has two engine options– a 1.6-Litre and a 2.0-Litre Direct Injection turbocharged engine. Both variants use Subaru’s iconic horizontally-opposed Boxer engine and are mated with Lineartronic CVT transmission.

While smaller, the 1.6-Litre engine produces 125 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque. It also has two SI-Drive modes. Meanwhile, the larger 2.0-Litre engine provides 197 kW and 350 Nm of torque. This engine also has 3 Si-Drive modes.

Performance

The Levorg is slated as a performance touring station wagon, which makes it quite different from a crossover SUV. It’s larger than the XV and Impreza but is a bit smaller than the Outback wagon. Because of its “tweener” built, it also performs quite differently from other Subaru vehicles.

Safety

The Subaru Levorg received a 5-star ANCAP safety rating across all of its range. Subaru has equipped it with the latest EyeSight Driver Assist which acts like a second pair of eyes that constantly detects potential collisions.

Safety features like an electronic parking brake, a rearview camera, SRS airbags, traction control system, electronic stability, and ABS are all standard features. Meanwhile, things like Blind Spot Monitor, Lane Change Assist, Front View Monitor and High Beam Assist are not available on the base 1.6 GT AWD variant.

Comfort

The Subaru Levorg for sale on dealerships is also packed with comfort-centric features such as dual-zone climate control, anti-dust filter and rear passengers even get access to floor heater ducts. It also comes with several entertainment features such as a 7-inch LCD touchscreen and a 6-speaker system with Bluetooth connectivity.

Speed

When driven on the highway, the Levorg STi 2.0 Sport can be quite a speedster with a top speed of 242 km/h. The car can also accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds. In comparison, the smaller 1.6-Liter engine variant can reach speeds of up to 209 km/h and accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.9 seconds.
